New Parts Added to Improve Estimating Accuracy Across Remodels

We’ve expanded our cost library with a major update based directly on contractor feedback from real-world projects.

These additions improve coverage across bathroom remodels, cabinetry, structural framing, exterior work, accessibility upgrades, and site prep, helping you build more accurate and complete estimates in less time.

While these new items are not yet surfaced by the AI assistant, they are fully available in the library and can be used in estimates or custom templates today.

Built From Contractor Feedback

Every part added in this update came directly from requests in the field.

Contractors consistently asked for:

  • More detailed cabinetry refinishing options
  • Better coverage for large-format tile installs
  • More realistic structural framing and opening scenarios
  • Expanded waterproofing and shower system configurations
  • Accessibility and specialty equipment pricing
  • Jobsite equipment rental and prep work coverage

This release focuses heavily on closing those gaps.

Bathroom & Shower System Expansions

We’ve significantly expanded coverage for bathroom remodels and waterproofing systems, including:

  • LED bathroom mirrors (open wall & finished wall conditions)
  • Wall-hung mirrors (non-lighted variants)
  • Recessed shower niches in multiple sizes
  • Sheet membrane shower pan systems (curbed & curbless)
  • Full waterproof shower assemblies with wall boards included
  • Linear drain upgrade adjustments
  • Frameless shower door systems (bypass, pivot, folding configurations)

These additions better reflect how modern shower systems are actually built and priced in the field.

Cabinet Refinishing & Assembly Improvements

Cabinet work now includes more precise labor modeling based on cabinet type, size, and finish complexity.

Refinishing options now include:

  • Wall cabinets (up to 30", 36", and 42")
  • Base cabinets (doors only, doors + drawers, drawer stacks)
  • Sanding + 2-coat and 3-coat finish systems
  • Frame + face refinishing variations

Flat-pack cabinet assembly now includes:

  • Wall cabinets (no drawers)
  • Base cabinets (no drawers / with drawers / multi-drawer stacks)
  • Pantry cabinet configurations
  • Labor-only assembly options (no material cost included)

This gives contractors more flexibility when working with IKEA-style or prefabricated cabinetry systems.

Structural Framing & Opening Work

We’ve added more granular framing and rough opening scenarios to better match real jobsite conditions:

  • Rough openings for windows (small, medium, large)
  • Exterior door openings (standard, large, oversized)
  • Beam installation (2x6 single member)
  • Temporary shoring and porch roof bracing
  • Exterior cellar/bulkhead door demolition and installation
  • Wall sheathing with integrated air/water barrier systems (taped seams included)

These additions improve accuracy for both remodels and new construction scenarios.

Site Prep, Concrete, and Equipment Rentals

New additions also cover early-stage jobsite work and equipment usage:

  • Excavator rentals (1 ton, 3 ton, 5 ton)
  • Dehumidifier rental (daily and weekly)
  • Air blower rental (daily and weekly)
  • Aggregate base course installation (4" and 6")
  • Floor leveler skim coats
  • Concrete grinding and polishing

This helps ensure pre-construction and site prep work is properly accounted for in estimates.

Exterior, Decking & Accessibility Upgrades

This update expands exterior work coverage across multiple categories:

Decking & railings:

  • Stainless steel cable rail systems (economy, average, premium)
  • Vinyl and aluminum railing systems
  • Composite deck bands and steps
  • Fiber cement exterior trim (multiple sizes)

Siding systems:

  • Vinyl siding profiles (board & batten, shake, vertical, brick, stone, log styles)

Accessibility:

  • Wheelchair lift installation (multiple lift heights and load ratings)

These additions improve accuracy for both high-end remodels and accessibility-focused projects.

Tile & Flooring (Large Format Expansion)

Large format tile work has been expanded significantly to reflect modern installation standards.

Labor installations now include:

  • Floor tile installs (12x24, 24x24, 24x48, plank formats)
  • Wall tile installs (multiple size categories)
  • Open room vs cut-up room complexity adjustments
  • Mortar, grout, and sealing included in labor scope

Material pricing tiers added:

  • Multiple price points per square foot ($2–$24 range)
  • Coverage for both flooring and wall applications
  • Separate scaling for 24" and 48" tile formats

This ensures better alignment between material quality and real-world install pricing.

Sliding Glass Doors & Exterior Openings

We’ve added expanded coverage for vinyl and fiberglass sliding door systems:

  • Multiple door widths (5', 6', 8', 9', 10', 12')
  • 2-panel, 3-panel, and 4-panel configurations
  • Economy and insulated glass options
  • Labor-only installation options (door not included)
  • Material + installation combinations

This provides better flexibility for both budget and premium exterior builds.
