Virtually every remodeling project involves a set of plans or blueprints. Having a dedicated drawing / CAD tool is key for most contractors, as plans are required in order to apply for permits, set project schedules, and begin construction.

Clear Estimates focuses on the estimating side, to provide the best estimating solution possible. Clear Estimates does not include a drawing or CAD feature within the software, but we see many clients use external CAD tools to handle project drawings.

We’ve put together a list of cost effective and free drawing / CAD tools that you can use for your projects along with Clear Estimates. 

Please note that we do not integrate directly with the tools listed below, but we do see many clients use solutions like these alongside Clear Estimates!

Fusion 360

Developed by Autodesk, Fusion 360 offers design, engineering, 3D modeling, simulation, blueprinting and more - and serves as an alternative to AutoCAD. It is available for Windows, macOS offers a web browser version.

Sketchup

Sketchup is great for CAD drawings, 3D modeling, blueprints and more. Sketchup offers a desktop and cloud version, with the cloud version working on most web browsers.

SmartDraw

SmartDraw is a powerful web-based CAD tool, perfect for drawings, charts, floor plans etc. SmartDraw offers a low cost drawing solution fully loaded with pre-built templates, diagrams and flowcharts. SmartDraw integrates with MS Office, Google, Teams and more!
